Who doesn’t like super soft cookies? When I bite into a cookie I want it to be soft, I don’t want it to break my teeth because it is as hard as a rock! So, after many trial and errors I have finally figured out how to make soft cookies every single time.
- 1 egg & 1 egg yoke
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon pure vanilla (if you are using imitation vanilla you will want to double)
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- Chocolate chips
I like to use two types of chocolate chips, for this recipe I used semi-sweet chocolate chips and Reese’s peanut butter chips. I highly recommend this combination if you like Reese’s peanut butter cups.
Let’s start baking!!!!
First things first, preheat your oven to 325°
Step 1: Stir butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
Step 2: Add egg, egg yoke, and vanilla. Mix together until batter is lighter in color.
Step 3: Add flour, baking soda, and salt. When mixing make sure to scrape the sides and the bottom of the bowl to ensure everything is combined. Batter should be smooth.
Step 4: Stir in chocolate chips by hand. I say do it by hand because you can perfectly fold them in and the chocolate chips will be evenly distributed. I purposely did not put an exact amount due to the fact that it is all dependent on preference. I personally do not like a lot of chocolate chips so I tend to do a little less than most people.
Step 5: Either line sheets with parchment paper or spray with non stick spray. I like to use one of the tiny ice cream scoops to place batter (about a tablespoons worth of batter) it’s easy and it ensures same size cookies.
Step 6: Baking is extremely important to get those soft cookies everyone loves and it is slightly tricky. Total bake time is 12 minuets but you will want to bake for 6 minuets and then rotate the sheet and bake for the last 6 minuets. Once done they will look cooked around the edges and undone in the middle. This is normal. Leave on baking sheet for 10 minutes or until you can remove them without them falling apart. Move to a cooling rack and let sit before storing cookies in a container.
There you have it. Guaranteed super soft chocolate chip cookies. This recipe makes about 2 dozen cookies depending on the size. Hope you enjoy!
